I've Been Listening to Glass All Day

No, not Philip Glass. Not even his cousin, Ira Glass. Today, they've been knocking out the windows in the former warehouse across the street, in preparation for turning it into lofts. (Ooooh, how trendy.)

This procedure seems to be nothing more complex than someone using a sledgehammer or mallet or some other sort of Blunt Force instrument to knock the windows out from the inside... and the shards f-a-a-a-l-l to the ground from as high as six stories.

Crash. Tinkle.

Seems like it would be a fun job to have, at least for a little while. How delightfully cathartic! Years ago, I was talking with a friend about how nice it would be to have something like a shooting range, but more hands on, and with targets less flimsy than paper. Panes of tempered glass. Vases. Televisions. Stuffed animals.

You have a bad day, you pay a visit. Just sign this waiver. Great! What will you use today: the baseball bat, length of pipe, chainsaw, flamethrower?

Sorta takes beating up a pillow to the next level.

Even though I've been in the office all day, it's been fun to listen to. Vicarious catharticism.

(Or something...)
