Mmmmm, one of last night's "serendipity purchases" is Suzanne Vega's new release, Songs in Red and Gray. In addition to alluding to my alma mater's colors (okay, that was crimson, technically), it hearkens to the type of sound I heard on Solitude Standing and her first, eponymous album.

I absolutely adore the lush, produced sound of Nine Objects of Desire, with it's smoky, scotch-and-honey jazz lounge vocals on tracks like "Caramel", but it's nice to hear something that echoes her roots.

I'm working on one of Anna Banana's infamous Doo-Ti-Doos; teetering on the edge between dazed and hyper. Mmmm.
