The daises and lilies are blooming, which is lovely, but it also means that there are more apis mellifera around. Ouch. She gave her life to defend the colony, and I didn't even mean them any harm. Poor bee.

(My high-school classmates would ponder my sanity, because I would often let bees land and/or walk on me without swatting at them or running away from them. The bees, that is, not my classmates.)

I bought pencils from a deaf gentleman this afternoon, so I had the chance to practice my ASL, which for this interaction consisted mostly of "thank you" and "you're welcome", because I didn't think that "uncle fucker" would be appropriate. He liked my glasses.

I know I'm thinking with my "reactive mind" and not considering the long-term ramifications, but if someone wanted to genetically modify a slug that, when bred with ordinary ones, would bear offspring that ate only weeds and not things that I want to eat, I would be okay with that. Maybe.

I have a book called something like Confessions of a Deaf Peddler. It's a fun read! I'll try to research it for you.
