Once more into the breach Austin, dear friends, once more!

Yeah, here to drink more Shiner Bock (ha ha), and perform "Knowledge Transfer" (a term so hackneyed that even fellow IT professionals look at me askance when I use it) to the people that'll be the infrastructure caretakers after I'm gone.

It's my last week at this job! Eeeeeeek!!

It's my next-to-last week living in Portland! Double eeeeeek!!

I'm in Austin! Eeee-- Well, that's not so bad, actually. (Could be worse: could be Houston.) Austin's nice, aside from the beer problem. I could almost stand to live here, aside from the fact that it's freakin' 85 degrees in late September. Call it my upbringing in the Pacific Northwet, but to me, September means back-to-school, grey skies, rain, turning leaves, and an opportunity to wear sweaters again.

Guess I'd better get used to this whole warmth thing. Weird.

You're spending your next-to-last week living in Portland in Austin?

You just want that last week to feel perfect.

Eep? I guess I won't be getting to visit you when I'm in Portland at the beginning of November, huh?

It could be worse. You could be moving to Austin instead of merely transfering some of your vast knowledge there.

Rumor has it that the Bay Area has autumn appropriately, so pack those sweaters. :)

Beer problem?
In Austin?

Dang, you didn't get out much while you were here, I guess. There's plenty of good beer here.

And the Bay Area barely has any weather at all. Your choices are sunny, or foggy. Don't even ask about seasons; in the winter, the fog is slightly colder.

But it's still a great place and I miss it. Have fun there. Get a motorcycle. Cars suck.
